sam doolahee arrived in Brussells and 4:27 p.m. eastern pacific time. He got his baggage and took a taxi into town. He went into a small tavern to have a few drinks after trying to find a place to stay with no luck. he figured he'd try some locals to see if they knew of a good place to stay.
"you know of any modestly priced hotels around here?" sam asked the barkeep "everywhere seems to be filled up"
"You tried the Queen Alexandra?"
"ya, all booked up"
"You tried the Hyatt?"
"ya, same thing."replied sam
" well... there is one place i know that would have room" said the barkeep as he stared at the glass he was drying in his hands.
"you go out this door and five blocks east, then one south, and cut in an alley way. when you get to the other end of the alley you'll be right in front of a real wild looking building. real curvy, organic looking, just go in there and tell them you want a place to stay."
"Thanks, I really appreciate it"
Sam was then off on his way taking the barkeeps directions.
He found the place and it was very interesting looking. Some kind of Art Nouveau styling, he thought it might have been build around the turn of the 20th century.
Sam approached the entrance and pulled on the door. It opened. He walked to what he thought was the front desk. "HELLO" "IS ANYBODY HERE" he said as he rang the bell.
I man came out from the darkness behind the counter. He was wearing a black suit, had black hair and a pointed moustache.
"Can I help you sir?"
"yes I need a place to stay"
The man in black hesitated, then smirked. "Is that right.... well you may be in luck. We just had an opening this afternoon."
"that's great, I was begginning to think i'd be sleeping out in the streets"
The man looked at sam with deep cold eyes and handed him his room keys. he was thin and pale. a shell of a human being. Sam could the blue veins pulsing in the mans forehead.
"Room 149... The elevator is down the hall to your left." The man then dissappeared back into the darkness.
Sam got a weird feeling just then but tried his best to brush it off. He picked up his bags and walked on down the hall. It was decorated with old pictures of ghostly looking people. The elevator was an old one with a cage door. A bell boy opened the cage and let him in. He was dressed in all red with a round cap. He was silent. Sam tried to spark conversation but the boy didn't reply. When he got to his floor he tipped the bell boy and moved into the hallway. The elevator door shut and was soon gone. Sam wandered down the hallway and at the end found room 149. The room was very open and had a great view of the city.
After a long day of travelling sam needed a drink. He poured himself a glass of whiskey from the bottle he had in his bag. He drank it down while gazing into the lights of the city. "Beautiful" he thought. He kept his buzz going by having a few more glasses before retiring to bed that night.
Sam awoke to find himself sucked to the bed. He was frantic and half asleep. "what is this?" he reached for the bedside lamp but knocked it off the table. the moonlight lit the room. It was pulsing, it was alive. the walls had veins and were made a flesh. he looked down at the bed and it too was flesh and it was sucking him in, breathing in and out, pumping blood and squeezing his body. He was in shock and he squirmed frantically trying to escape it's grip. The walls breathed in and out. The room was hot and moist and closing in on him. He was slowly being swallowed. "FUCK" FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK" HELP HELP ME ITS EATING ME" he cried. but it was no use. all the walls and windows had disappeared. he screamed in agony as it crushed his legs. Mucus dripped onto his face from the ceiling above. it clogged his throat and began suffocating him. He sank deeper and deeper into the bed as it crushed his ribcage. soon his screams were only murmurs. then the night was silent
